HOt and Steamy, that's what I thought about reading this romance book about a woman who tries to proposition an ex-hockey player who is ditching relationships after a bad encounter gets him shot and ends his hockey career.
This is a funny story about two people who despertly try Not to fall in love with each other.

I recieved this book as a Secret Santa gift. It was such a great read I passed the book on to a co-worker who I am sure will enjoy this story too.

I will be looking forward to reading more books by Rachel Gibson in the future.

Building Your Book for Kindle

I was so glad when I came across this book today. I was able to reformat all my Kindle editions so they now have table of contents.
It has easy to follow instructions, much easier to use than the Smashwords style guide. (Sorry Mark, what can I say.)
If you publish with KDP then you really need to have a copy of this book.

The Ognegott by Charles G. Timm

The Ohnegott is a pretty quick read since it is only about 10k words. It is written more like a long - short story.

Charles Timm does have a good plot in this story but his writing style is awkward making the story hard to read.

Should this story were receive a good edit and the writing style were to become smoother I would be more than happy to give it another read and re-evaluation.

But because of the stinted dialogue and prose I can only give it 2 **

Bewitching by Alex Flinn

This was such a good read, an enjoyable tale. I had great difficulty putting this book down.

I highly recommend this book to all “Once Upon a Time” fans.

This book is very much on the same concept as the TV series mentioned above. It is where the author, Alex Flinn takes several different fairy tales and gives them a different perspective on what they were all about, from the view point of a witch, known as Kendra.

My favorite tale in the book was about Emma and Lissette.

Good book for all ages.

Hostile Witness by Rebecca Forster

Who done it and who will confess to doing it?

This legal thriller is suspenseful. The first few chapters were very slow reading, but well worth the buildup of the storyline. I am glad I stayed with it.

Hannah is arrested for arson and possible murder. Her mom and her step dad both have possible motives for killing her Step-Grandfather who happens to be a Supreme Court Justice. I won’t tell you anymore about this story.

I gave this book 4 out of 5 ****

Sleep Tight by Anne Fraiser and Theresa Weir

Strikingly Good!

This was the first suspense thriller I have read in quite some time. I found it enjoyable and hard to put down.

It was such a good tale, I can’t give you any spoilers; you will need to read this book yourself.

In the future, I plan on checking out more books by Anne Frasier (Author) and Theresa Weir (Author).

Bedtime Stories for Cats by Amy Neftzger

Just Okay!

I received this book in a Members’ Giveaway on Library Thing.

After reading the first work in this book I lost interest rather quickly. The cat was asleep before I finished the first paragraph. But he sleeps through anything any ways.

The only thing I found I did not like about the book was it lacked the humor I kind of expected I would find in such a book. Why would I expect humor from this book is beyond me. But there was none in the first two stories. It lacked the hook to keep me reading after this point.

I give the author 2 out of 5 ** for effort.

Short Stories I-IV by David M. Brown

I gave this book a shot. I even tried each of the stories in this book of four quick reads. None of them could hold my interest.

Hollowland (The Hollows, #1) by Amanda Hocking

I loved this book. Amanda Hocking has a wonderful imagination. This fast paced story about zombies, lions, and tigers kept me reading almost non-stop. I don’t think there was a moment in the book where I ever found I had lost interest in the story.

The fact that this is the first zombie book I have ever read and I just could not stop reading.

I will be definitely investigating the rest of her books in the near future.

The Book of Deacon by Joseph Lallo

The Book of Deacon is a good book indeed.

I really enjoyed this tale. It is quite long but well worth the read. Joseph Lallo has a really unique way of telling a story. Those who love fantasy will really enjoy this story as well.

I could tell you the details about this story but I refuse to give any spoilers. Instead I will only quote the author by telling you the given synopsis describing the book.

Call of the Herald (The Dawning of Power) by Brian Rathbone

If you like fantasy, you will most likely like this book. Brian has a pretty good tale going, although the beginning is a little bit dry. I did struggle past the first chapter and found myself a little bit lost at first by what he was trying to convey with his scene on the comets.

The reader will eventually find out what the comets are all about later on in the book.

It does have a pretty good hook after the second chapter and I was late getting back to work on a few occasions. I just didn’t want to put this book down after I got past the gritty stuff.

The ending is kind of a cliff hanger but I was satisfied enough with the ending to give this book four stars.

I will even be reading the next book in the series. (I did like it that much.)

Deadly Intentions by Candice Poarch

What a great murder mystery romance novel. I don’t read books of this genre very often, but I really did enjoy this book.

The author, Candice Poarch, has a nice writing style making her story easy to read.

I tend to only read on my work breaks and this book did make it hard to go back to work. I just wanted to keep reading.

Now I will be going back in search of more books by this author, and I will look for her new ones in the future.

Earth's Ultimate Conflict by Kathy Porter

Page turner, this is not, at least not yet. It could be a great page turner. I liked the overall plot of the story. Kathy Porter does have a good storyline going with Earth’s Ultimate Conflict. But there were several issues I found with the copy I received from the Author in April 2011 when I won it as a giveaway on the site fReado dot com.

First of all, I sadly could not finish reading this book. I made it 80% of the way before I gave up on the read. It read like a rough first draft and is in need of some real serious editing. Sadly it seems that the author spent the money on the fancy bookmark for marketing and neglected the editing of the book. I personally would have spent the money on a good copy editor instead.

1.       There were many typos in the book. Missing words, miss spelled words, or wrong words. Example, in several places and was used in place of an. This causes the reader to stop and go back over what they just read to make sense of the paragraph.

2.       Several problems in the tense. One minute it is written in present and then the next it is in past tense.

3.       This one was the worse problem I came across. Major head hopping. This ultimately caused me to stop reading the book. It got to the point where I could not tell which character was doing or saying what. Way too confusing. And why would you use the same name in the story for two different people. This caused even more confusion. Tony and Anthony were too close and with the amount of characters introduced in the story, I could not tell which one was which by the end of the story.

I highly recommend the author seek the services of a copy editor before pressing on with more marketing of this book.

Exercises in Knitting

I took the download of this book hoping it would have knitting info in it that would be useful to me. There are no diagrams and most of the patterns are for items worn back in the 1920's.
I guess it would be good for someone who is looking to make costumes for that era.
Don't waste your Kindle shelf space with this book. Even if it is for free.
